McLintock! (1963) is a Western comedy directed by Andrew V. McLaglen and starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, and Patrick Wayne. The film follows wealthy rancher George Washington "G.W." McLintock (John Wayne) as he navigates personal and professional challenges, including the return of his estranged wife, Katherine (Maureen O'Hara), and conflicts with land-grabbers and corrupt officials. Loosely based on William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," the movie combines humor with action, set against the backdrop of the American frontier. This is a special restored producer's cut releaesd in 1993.
